About
Buildable Mountain Land Co. was founded on a simple observation: many people dream about owning mountain land in Western North Carolina, yet the process of finding property buyers can actually understand, access, and build on is often frustratingly opaque.
Too many wooded parcels are marketed with little regard for topography, access, infrastructure, septic feasibility, and other practical realities of building in the mountains. Buyers are left trying to interpret out-of-context drone photography, property descriptions based on fantasy, and little in the way of functional detail or visuals. In many cases, the land itself isn’t the problem—the presentation is.
That disconnect became increasingly obvious to Jason Pantano after relocating to Western North Carolina and immersing himself in the region’s vacant land market firsthand. Coming from nearly two decades leading business operations in the construction and real estate sectors, he saw an opportunity to apply a more practical and transparent approach to mountain land acquisition, development, and advisory work.
Buildable Mountain Land Co. took shape from that approach.
Drawing from both investor and field experience, Jason specializes in identifying overlooked mountain properties with strong underlying potential, then unlocking that potential through thoughtful planning, strategic infrastructure improvements, selective clearing, and buyer-minded preparation. The goal is not simply to sell acreage, but to help buyers better understand what a property actually is, what it could become, and what it would realistically take to get there.
Buildable Mountain Land Co. focuses on low-density mountain land projects designed to respect their surroundings while creating properties for buyers to make their own. Whether that means improving access, confirming septic suitability, conducting surveys, coordinating infrastructure, clarifying build sites, or producing transparent guided video tours, the objective remains the same: reducing uncertainty and helping connect people with mountain property they can genuinely use and enjoy.
Importantly, surveys—often left on the buyer in this market—reduce the uncertainty around boundaries, easements, build sites, and the true scope of a property.
That same practical approach extends beyond the company’s own development projects. Jason also works directly with land buyers throughout the Asheville region as a specialized broker and owner’s representative, helping clients evaluate mountain property, navigate due diligence, plan their site, coordinate contractors, and make informed decisions before and after closing.
Whether guiding buyers through one of the company’s own projects or assisting with acreage elsewhere in the region, the focus remains the same: clarity and respect for the land itself.
